Computer Associates®
International, Inc. (CA) has donated technology and services
that have taken the National Missing Persons Bureau (LBVP) of the Dutch National
Police (KLPD) and National Center
for Missing & Exploited Children's (NCMEC) web presence into
the 21st century. Database Management products have been combined
with CAs advanced hosting services to provide the LBVP and
the NCMEC with the ability to supply an online database of
missing children worldwide.
One of the most powerful features of the NCMEC's and LBVPs
web sites is that all information on missing children, including
updates, can be quickly and easily entered by the responsible
organization onto the site using a standard web browser. The
minute critical data on a missing child is made available, LBVP
staff can post it immediately for the rest of the world to see.
Police and government agencies can then print missing children
posters directly from the web site and distribute them within
minutes.
The partnership between CA in the Netherlands and the National Police will
help improve the safety of children and speed the tracing of
missing children. CA has had a close partnership with the
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in the US
for years. The objective is to provide worldwide assistance to
organizations tracing missing children through the use of
technology. CA is pleased to donate both its technology and
expertise for the benefit of children.
